Modric asks to leave Real Madrid
FIFA World Cup golden ball winner Luka Modric has informed Real Madrid president Florentino Perez about his ambitions to leave the club, with rumors linking him with Italian giants Inter Milan according to Spanish radio station Onda Cero.
Inter Milan have made their intentions of bringing the Croatian midfielder to the club clear after failing to land former Bayern Munich midfielder Arturo Vidal who joined Barcelona. However, Perez has stated he doesn’t intend letting go of the midfielder for less than the €750m as per his release clause.
"Modric is not leaving Real Madrid," said Florentino Pérez. "He is not leaving unless someone pays the 750 million euros of his release clause and not a euro less."
The message from Perez clearly means that Real Madrid is in no way planning to sell their prized asset as his contract extends till 2020. Real have been rocked by many big name moves including Cristiano Ronaldo, Matteo Kovacic (loan), and coach Zinedine Zidane all leaving the club this transfer window,
While Inter Milan have galvanized their side ahead of their return to the Champions League with the signings of Radja Nainggolan, Sime Vrsaljko (loan), Kwadwo Asamoah and Lautaro Martinez.
