Gor Mahia responded well after their loss to Bandari last weekend by conjuring a 2-1 victory over Posta Rangers at Moi Stadium, Kisumu on the 10th of August 2018.

The Green Army started the game on a high note as Jacques Tuyisenge's goal was ruled offside in the 8th minute. The disallowed goal came after a neat pass from Francis Kahata. However, it only took the Rwandese four minutes to reclaim his glory. He headed in Gor Mahia's first goal from a Francis Kahata corner.

Posta Rangers was forced to start pressing and in the 15th minute, Boniface Oluoch had to parry Likono's free kick. Gor Mahia came close to doubling their lead as Mieno headed the ball over the bar after a Wafula cross in the 24th minute. In the 41st minute, Oluoch was forced to stop a dangerous Cavine Odongo long-range shot.

By Half Time, K' Ogalo was leading in Kisumu by a goal to none.

The second half began with both sides seemingly pressing at both ends.  In the 48th minute, Shakava cleared a dangerous shot from Likoni from the goal line. Keeper Boniface Oluoch had been clearly beaten but his captain saved the day. Scorer Jacques Tuyisenge was substituted in the 54th minute by Juma.

Gor Mahia managed to double their lead thanks to a Francis Kahata free kick in the 56th minute.

Ingotsi came on for Posta Rangers in the 69th  minute after Nyagha got injured.

Posta Rangers goal

Cavin Odongo handed Posta Rangers a glimmer of hope by scoring in the 82nd minute.

However, it was not enough to save Rangers from the hands of a resilient Gor Mahia who were looking to get back to winning ways.

The game ended with Gor Mahia taking the day. The win takes K'Ogalo to 59 points on the log. With the strike, Tuyisenge takes his tally to thirteen opening a two-goal gap with AFC Leopard's Whyvonne Isuza and Nicholas Kipkirui of Zoo who have eleven goals. The Rwandan has to score another two to match Elvis Rupia's record of 15. Rupia left KPL to join Power Dynamos of Zambia during the midseason transfer window.

Odongo has now scored twice consecutively after striking the sole goal in their 1-3 loss to Bandari at Camp Toyoyo on August 4th. Posta will be at Bukhungu for their August 19th match against Ulinzi Stars while Gor will play Kakamega Homeboyz.
