Kagere on the double as Simba edge Mbeya City

Former Gor Mahia striker Meddie Kagere continued to shine in Tanzania, grabbing a brace as Simba SC beat Mbeya City 2-0 at the Benjamin Mkapa National Stadium on Monday 27 August.

Kagere opened the scoring in the 2nd minute, rising high to head in Shiza Kichuya cross. He grabbed the second goal in similar fashion just before the breather, heading a delicious cross by Ghanaian Asante Kwasi.

Form

Kagere has had a good start in the TPL scoring 3 goals in 2 matches for Wekundu wa Msimbazi. Simba custodian Aishi Manula couldn’t finish the match as he was pulled out at the 53rd minute due to injury and was replaced by youngster Ally Salim.

Simba is at the top of the log with 6 points from 2 matches.
