Tanzania national team head coach Emmanuel Amunike has accepted the point taken from his team’s clash against Uganda in the second match of the 2019 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.
The two East African nations played to a 0 – 0 draw in the clash at the Mandela Stadium, Namboole on Saturday 8th September in what was also the coach’s first competitive match in charge of the Tanzanian national side.
Uganda were particularly wasteful in the game though Tanzania too had their chances but squandered and in the end Amunike feels the result is a fair reflection of the match and is happy that they didn’t lose away from home.
“It is a good result for us; we saw the game, it was very very interesting and it could have gone either way because they had chances and so did we and the most important thing here is that we did not lose away, and we will go back home and continue to work,” he said.
It leaves his team with two points from the opening two matches and the former Nigerian international will be working on a winning formula when Taifa Stars meets Cape Verde in the next game.
