Watford midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure has labeled Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba and Manchester City defender Benjamin Mendy as show-offs but says it is a good thing.
Doucoure had a wonderful campaign last season scoring seven goals and impressed so much so that he attracted interest from Liverpool and various La Liga outfits. Pogba has drawn some immense criticism recently after comments that have casted a huge doubt over his future at Manchester United.
Doucoure who played with Pogba in the France U21 set up terms the United midfielder as a show-off but that isn’t a bad thing, “He likes to show off a little bit, but he’s a very nice guy, very natural. Today there’s a different dimension, because he is a superstar, but he was always the same. He likes to laugh, to speak about everything. Both [on and off the pitch], he has this personality… he gets this because he is good on the pitch as well. It’s good for him.”
The France international also added that Mendy is a show-off, “Benjamin Mendy as well brings a lot of personality, show-off sometimes. It’s good in the football.” Doucoure disclosed he is close to Pogba, “He grew up in Italy, I think he did very good things in England. Of course, he is a very important player for Manchester United. We have to be aware of him, he will be very dangerous for us. We speak together sometimes... I sent him a message in the World Cup, congratulated him on the title.”
Watford welcome Manchester United on Saturday 15th September in a 7:30 PM kick off.
