Manchester United defender Luke Shaw is free to start in the weekend English Premier League encounter against Watford according to Jose Mourinho.
Shaw has had a perfect start to the season after spending the better part of last season as Ashely Young’s understudy. The defender scored in the win against Leicester City and scooped the Manchester United player of the month in August. Shaw, however, suffered a concussion in the England 2-1 defeat to Spain in the UEFA Nations League and was set to be on the sidelines for around two weeks.
Mourinho noted that Shaw was cleared by medical staff to play against Watford, “I don’t know – we still have a training session. Contrary to some news, to some opinions, by the protocol point of view and according to our doctor, he will be free to play.”
The Portuguese manager, however, questioned the defender's fitness levels, “The only situation we have to analyse is if you are going to play him when, during the week, he was not training with the team or if, even so, he decides to play.”
