Brighton boss Chris Hughton has confirmed that his side does not have any injury concern for now ahead of their clash against Southampton.
Florin Andone has been confirmed that he will feature for the U23 side as he continues to recover fully. Hughton admitted that all his players are back to training but are at different levels of recovery.
"We’re looking okay at the moment, there are a few coming back from injuries and some players are at different stages to others. [Florin] Andone will play in an under-23 game on Friday night. We’re in good shape, some at different levels and some are closer than others, but they’re all training.” the boss told a press conference.
“He’s not been injured throughout the pre-season period, but his numbers in the games have been limited. He’ll probably play 45 minutes on Friday and we’ll make a decision after that. [Alireza] Jahanbakhsh has been involved, and [Jose] Izquierdo has been back in training, but not in the games.” he continued.
No underestimating opponents
On Southampton’s threat, Hughton expects to face a determined side especially after coming from the hard-fought 2-0 win over Crystal Palace.
“What we can’t do is underestimate the qualities they’ve got. They’ve got a very good squad and a very good team. We’ll have to play at the levels that we have done in the last three games to give ourselves a chance to get something.” he explained.
“Their level of performance has been good, even in the games they haven’t won; they are always on the front foot looking to play in the opposition half, particularly if they are at home. That’s generally what you will see what from a Mark Hughes side,” Hughton concluded.
