No Ugandan referee will be in action in the 2018 CAF Champions League and Confederations Cup quarterfinals but there will be a debutant.
Renowned events management and security expert Dixon ‘Bond’ Okello has been appointed to take care of security matters in the 2nd leg game between Al Ahly of Egypt and Horoya AC of Guinea.
The match will be played on Saturday 22nd September in Alexandria, Egypt.
Okello will work with Mohamed Dellagi from Tunisia. He is appointed at a time that the Egyptian football fans are gradually returning to the stadiums after six years.
The fans were banned from watching games in 2012 following violence at Port Said stadium that left tens of fans dead.
It was lifted in 2015 but immediately reinstated after another fan chaos that claimed about twenty Zamalek fans.
