Former Black Stars winger Laryea Kingston has thrown his support behind C.K. Akonnor, calling on the management of the Asante Kotoko to appoint him as head coach.
Management of the Kumasi Based Club earlier this week debunked speculations that they had already signed a two year deal with the experienced gaffer.
According to Laryea Kingston Akonnor was not just a great footballer but has also gathered enough experience as a coach to handle the Porcupine Warriors.
The former Hearts of Oak Player explained his belief in him because he has worked closely with Akonnor on the touchline and can attest to the fact that he’s a great manager and tactician.
“C.K. is a wonderful manager. He has gathered enough experience both as a player and as a coach. I was his assistant when the Northern Sector played the Southern Sector in Tamale to commission the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium.
“I admired his training drills and I must confess he was also great tactically,” Laryea said in an interview.
Following the resignation of Paa Kwesi Fabin as coach of Kotoko, management of the team have launched a search for his replacement.
