Deschamps opens up on Pogba-Mourinho relationship
France head coach Didier Deschamps has responded to Paul Pogba and Jose Mourinho’s relationship noting that their situation is being exaggerated.
Paul Pogba has had a frosty relationship with Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho which has led to media reporting a burst up between the two. Jose Mourinho sent Paul Pogba away from training a day after the defeat to Derby County in a spat that was captured by cameras. Their strained relationship has led to Jose Mourinho stripping Paul Pogba of the vice-captaincy role at the club.
Deschamps believes that the media is blowing Pogba and Mourinho’s situation out of proportions, “I think that it is exaggerated. Maybe you didn't watch the last game because I saw a great Paul Pogba. I think that Jose Mourinho saw the same thing as me. Some things happened, and I think that like often, we make a big deal of maybe not so much.”
The World Cup-winning coach added that Pogba is committed to Manchester United, “When I see how Paul behaves towards his current club situation some may say that he's done everything he could mentally and when it comes to his individual performances to help the club. There is no issue with Paul. I don't want to be mixed up with anything and to interfere with any player's relationship with their coach.”
