Confirmed: England duo withdraw from squad

11 Oct 2018, 13:45

Injured England duo Alex McCarthy and Danny Rose have withdrawn from Gareth Southgate's squad, the Three Lions confirmed.

The Southampton keeper and Spurs leftback respectively will miss the upcoming international matches against Croatia and Spain. England's boss Southgate has now lost four players from his original squad through injury. Luke Shaw and James Tarkowski have already returned to Manchester United and Burnley, respectively, and the aforementioned duo has now been joined on the sidelines by Rose and McCarthy.

Ben Chilwell remains the only left back left for selections following the withdrawal of Rose, leaving Southgate with a selection headache.
