Nzoia condemns illicit player approaches

Nzoia Sugar players have been a key target for teams in the Kenyan Premier League (KPL) as the club goes through financial hardships but as it emerges, most of the players said to be on the way out are subjects of illegal approach from other teams.

Luke Namanda and Festus Okiring are among the senior players said to be on the way out while David Okoth has already terminated his contract with the club and is rumored to be on the way to Kakamega Homeboyz.

The team’s coach Nicholas Muyoti has called on clubs after its players’ services to use the rightful means of trying to get the players, rather than tapping.

Order

“There are a lot of approaches for our players from other clubs but what I can say is that they need to do this in the stipulated order. So far we are reading on news that so and so is heading to this and that team but we have not had any official approach.

“It is unprofessional to player – tap while it is also important that they respect this because for us to be able to plan for next season, we will want to know who we have on board,” he said.

Muyoti took charge at the team after Bernard Mwalala left for Bandari.
