AFC Leopards violent fans condemned
Yappets Mokua, Nzoia Sugar chairman has condemned the violence that occurred during their last league match against AFC Leopards at Machakos on October 7th, 2018.
During the match, the AFC Leopards fans were incensed when their team went behind and offloaded their anger on the Nzoia Sugar FC fans.
"One fan was seriously beaten, his manhood severed and all valuables including money stolen from him. It is worth noting that the attack was spearheaded by a well known AFC steward by the name Wanjala from Busia." Mokua revealed.
The Nzoia Chairman was left clearly unhappy with the events on the stands. Talking to Futaa.com, the Chairman advised the AFC Leopards community to direct their anger at their own team whenever they are loosing. He wondered how it becomes the mistake of the opposing team when Leopards are not doing well.
“This is the second time AFC Leopards are beating Nzoia Sugar FC fans. The first was last year when all hell broke loose after Nzoia Sugar FC took a lead through Elvis Rupia at the same ground. The AFC Leopards fans led by the same stewards (Wanjala) beat a Nzoia Sugar FC official injuring her seriously.” Mokua said.
Mr Mokua urged FKF first to review the reports of a similar fixture last year and then relook at the reports for this year.
“The Federation should then take decisive action against AFC Leopards. In this era and age, we cannot tolerate this level of hooliganism especially led by club officials. All stakeholders need to exercise a high level of professionalism for the game too,” the chair concluded.
Nzoia won the match 2-0 with Hansel Ochieng and Kevin Juma the day’s scorers.
