Harambee Stars promised Ksh 50 Million if they beat Ethiopia
Deputy President of the Republic of Kenya Hon William Samoei Ruto has assured Harambee Stars players that the Government will reward them with Ksh 50 million if they beat Ethiopia on Sunday at Kasarani.
Ruto, speaking after the team's training session at the Moi International Sports Center in Kasarani, Ruto also revealed the Government will deliver a bus to the team in the next one month.
"The Nation is standing behind you as you ply Ethiopia on unday. You have our prayers, support and goodwill. The whole country, every Kenyan and their hearts will be at Kasarani on Sunday. We will be here to cheer you. This is a historic moment for the whole country and we want you to make us proud by winning the match," Ruto said
"We (GoK) made two commitments to the team and I am here to rubberstamp and emphasize again. If you win the Government will give Harambee Stars Ksh 50Million. The official Harambee Stars bus we promised will also be delivered by next month," he added.
The Deputy President also revealed that the Government had released Ksh 25Million to Football Kenya Federation for preparing the team.
"It was brought to our attention that there was a problem with allowances but we have sorted all that by releasing monies to the federation and going forward this will not happen again. Ksh 25Million was released by yesterday (Thursday). " He concluded.
The match start at 4PM and fans have been urged to get to the venue two hours to kick off.
