Ghana & Hoffenheim’s Adams Red-Carded Against Lyon in UCL
Black Stars defender Kasim Adams was shown a red card while playing for his German club Hoffenheim against France’s Olympic Lyon on Wednesday night.
The Kumasi-born player received a second yellow card in the 51st minute while his team was still tied at 1-1 with hosts Lyon.
The 23-year-old has been a key figure in Die Kraichgauer’s central defense having played the previous entire matches in the Bundesliga against Bayer Leverkusen (4-1 win) and RB Leipzig (2-0 loss).
Adams will now miss Hoffenheim’s next UCL match against Shakhtar Donetsk on Tuesday 27 November but will, however, remain available selection in the Bundesliga.
His team faces Augsburg on Saturday for a home game at the 30 000-capacity Wirsol Rhein-Neckar-Arena.
In other player news, the former Medeama SC footballer has been selected for Ghana’s 2019 AFCON Qualifier against Ethiopia for 18 November.
