Relief for Nsimbe after first win
George Best Nsimbe’s magic took too long to spread at Maroons FC as the team endured a tough start to life under the experienced coach but finally that first win came and in good fashion, at home to Onduparaka on Wednesday 7th November.
Maroons saw off Ondu 2 – 1 at Luzira Prison Grounds as Solomon Walusimbi opened the scoring with his second goal of the before Rashid Agau made it two with his third goal of the season later in the second half and through Gadinho Gaddafi pulled one back, there was no denying Nsimbe’s boys.
The coach, who replaced Onduparaka coach Asaph Mwebaze at the team at the start of the season, lauded his charges for their concentration in the game and hopes the win marks the start of a good run for the team.
“It is a relief definitely. We showed good concentration in the game to see it off and I am happy with the boys. Hopefully, we will continue in this stride and do much better in the coming matches,” he said.
The win saw Nsimbe’s team rise from the relegation region for the first time in the season and next they will face off with Kirinya Jinja SSS.
