South Africa’s Banyana Make History with World Cup Qualification

South Africa is celebrating Banyana Banyana very first FIFA Women’s World Cup qualification to be held in France in 2019.

The South African ladies overcame Mali 2-0 in Tuesday night’s semi-final of the 2018 African Women's Championship in Cape Coast, Ghana.

Banyana’s goals came via Thembi Kgatlana and Lebogang Ramalepe to set up a final with arch-rivals Nigeria who defeated Cameroon 4-2 on penalties in the other semi-final on Tuesday.

Desiree Ellis’s team will meet Nigeria on Saturday, 1 December at 18:00 in Ghana.
