Mathare United Head Coach Francis Kimanzi has expressed his satisfaction with the performance of the team in its 1-1 draw against Gor Mahia in an entertaining Kenyan Premier League (KPL) match played on Sunday 6th January at the MISC Kasarani.
Both teams wasted clear goalscoring chances and Kimanzi believes a draw was a fair result.
"We had our fair share of chances and our opponents did too. We could have won but it did not happen and I think a draw is okay. We were a bit slow at the start but came into the party as the game progressed on," Kimanzi said after the match,
"It was a very entertaining match. Playing against the reigning champions motivates the lads although I think they should have done better. We are coming from a festive season and I think that also affected the pace of the game from our side as the boys are yet to adjust." He added.
Mathare remains at the top of the log with 14 points having played 6 matches.
