Kariobangi Sharks recorded their first win of the year after downing Western Stima in week seven of the Kenyan Premier League action and according to head coach William Muluya, the result was a huge psychological boost for his charges.
Muluya in his post-match conference while appreciating the win said he was thrilled with how his charges started the game and hailed his strikers for helping the team settle its nerves with an early goal.
“It is our first win of the year so I appreciate. We got the scoring right. We scored in the second minute and it settled nerves. My best players today tested the net. The win will build us physiologically,” Muluya said.
The coach further welcomed the return of striker Eric Kapaito who made his debut this season in the match after a long injury lay off.
“His return has boosted the mood in the camp. He was our MVP last season and we will need to get him fit for games. He has just returned and we don’t expect so much form him. Ours is to help him pick as the games come,” Muluya added.
Sharks placed fifth on the log with 13 points travel to Kericho to face Zoo in their next league outing.
