Belgian top-flight side Cercle Brugge has released a statement saying Harambee Stars left back Abud Omar could not hold a regular place in their club this after the left-back left the club for Romania.
26-year-old Abud signed a two and half year deal with Romanian topflight side Sepsi OSK and having featured eight times for Brugge this season, the club said the defender left Belgium in search of more playing minutes.
“Cercle Brugge and the Romanian ACS Sepsi has found an agreement regarding the immediate transfer of defender Abud Omar. The 26-year-old Abud came featured for Cercle Brugge 8 times this season for but could not force a regular place in that period. Abud is now looking for more playing minutes in the Romanian top department,” the statement noted.
Apart from Abud, the club also confirmed the departure of 20-year-old Ivorian Franck Irie whose contract with the club was terminated.
“We can also confirm that Franck Irie and Cercle Bruges have parted ways. The 20-year-old Ivorian contract with the club has been terminated and he has since returned to Ivory Coast. Cercle Brugge wishes both players every success in the further course of their career,” the statement continued.
A bud has been in Brugge barely for six months but leaves another Kenyan in Johanna Omollo at the club.
