Red-hot Salah the most prolific player in England since August 2017
Egyptian superstar Mohamed Salah won the PFA player of the year award last season and after a slow start to 2018/2019, he seems to be reaching those heights again.
64 - Since his debut for Liverpool in the PL in August 2017, Mo Salah has been directly involved in 64 goals in 59 games (47 goals, 17 assists), 14 more than any other player. Pepper. pic.twitter.com/pzQtACXtoN— OptaJoe (@OptaJoe) January 19, 2019
Salah was cruelly injured in the Champions League final when he clashed with Sergio Ramos but that didn't take the sheen off what was a brilliant campaign for him, one in which he scored 32 goals and assisted 10 more in the English Premier League. He also bagged 10 goals and assisted four more in the Champions League.
Opta also highlights another impressive landmark reached by Salah:
50 - Mo Salah has scored his 50th Premier League goal in his 72nd appearance in the competition - only Andy Cole (65), Alan Shearer (66) and Ruud van Nistelrooy (68) have reached the milestone in fewer appearances. Landmark. #LIVCRY pic.twitter.com/sEeA42GCjg— OptaJoe (@OptaJoe) January 19, 2019
Salah scored in Liverpool's 4-3 win over Crystal Palace this afternoon at Anfield which extends their lead over Manchester City at the summit of the Premier League to seven points.
