Paris Saint Germain have been handed a major boost after French publication RMC Sport reported that Marco Verratti could return to training this week ahead of their Champions League Round of 16 clash against Manchester United.
Verratti sprained his ankle in the 9-0 win over Guingamp earlier this month and was doubtful for the two-legged clash against United. It is reported that Verratti could be back for the Ligue 1 clash against Bordeaux which is just three days before the United clash.
The news will soften the blow that PSG have been dealt with after Neymar was ruled out for both their ties against Manchester United after fracturing his foot. PSG have signed Leandro Paredes from Russian club Zenit St. Petersburg to act as a backup to Verratti in case he fails to make it in time for the Round of 16 clash.
