2016 CAF African coach of the year, Pitso Mosimane, has simplified his team’s task against Asec Mimosas purely to a mental assignment.
Mosimane’s side play their third Group A match after losing to Lobi Stars and beating Wydad Casablanca respectively.
"The days when my players were cheese boys (physically and mentally soft) are over. Now we fight fire with fire. There is no room for cowards,” he said.
"If you lack a never-say-die mentality, forget about wearing the colours of Sundowns. Our aim is to play entertaining football, but we (are) also ready to fight.
"But again you have to be very careful and don’t go too hard. It’s like an egg shell, you need to be careful because if you press it hard, it might break.
Mosimane also added that Masandawana have enough quality to win tonight and draw away in Ivory Coast in the return leg.
"ASEC are a technical and physical team whom we respect, but we have no option but to win at home. I believe we can take four points from our two matches against them."
Versatile attacking-defender, Thapelo Morena, also added that Sundowns are aiming to go top.
"We want to go to the top of the Group tonight, a team performances is needed for this," said Morena.
