Pirates make three additions to CAF squad

01 Feb 2019, 19:45

Orlando Pirates have added three more players to their CAF Champions League squad, just before they face Esperance de Tunis this weekend.

Luvuyo Memela (forward), Wayne Sandilands (goalkeeper) and Thabo Matlaba (defender-cum-midfielder).

The club shared the news via Twitter, saying: "Three Added to @CAF_Online Champions League Squad."

“After extensive consultation with the technical team‚ I can confirm that we have registered the three players in question into the Champions League squad‚” the club's head of Administation Floyd Mbele said.

“Caf allows clubs to register a total of 30 players for the competition and as a club we had decided to register only 27 players at the time as we felt this number was sufficient to get us through the preliminary stages of the competition‚ which we did.”
