Milutin Srejojevic, the head Coach of Orlando Pirates, says his team has moved on from the goalless draw against Esperance in a group A match day three of the CAF Champions League on Saturday at the Orlando stadium.
The coach feels, and rightly so, that his team didn’t create enough goal scoring chances to score against the reigning African champions.
According to the official statistics, Pirates managed only two shots off target, none on target and created only one corner.
“We played a very good team. They knew us, we knew them and you could see they planned for our strong points. I think we created chances but not enough. It is a bitter feeling because we played very well against a very good team but we couldn’t score. The goal alluded us,” Micho analysed.
Esperance and Pirates are now tied on five points at the summit of group A. they face each other in the first match of the second round (match day four) on Tuesday 12th this month.
The Serbian says that the team’s focus has now shifted to the match after the barren result.
“We have to go back and plan. We have to focus for the next game in Tunisia.
“I know that the conditions will favour them in Tunisia including the weather and the field conditions. We have to prepare well for the return leg. It is not about home and away but points. Our aim is to finish amongst the best two teams in our group.”
