BREAKING: Ismaily reinstated to the CAF Champions League
Egyptian side Ismaily SC have been reinstated back to the CAF Champions League after crowd trouble led to the abandonment of their opening group stage clash against Club Africain which led to their expulsion from the tournament.
The match was called off in stoppage time after parts of the crowd threw water bottles and stones at an assistant referee and Africain players. Club Africain were leading 2-1 and both teams and officials had to be protected as they left the pitch.
Ismaily will have some catching up to do after sitting out of matchday two and are currently bottom of Group C which is currently being led by Algerian side Constantine.
