Martial aims jibe at Mourinho with praise for Solskjaer

Anthony Martial aimed a slight jibe at former Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho after he said they are enjoying the current style of play demanded by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Martial, who accompanied Soslskjer in the Champions League pre-match presser, says they find it easy to play the style of football that Soslkajer wants than it was under Mourinho.  The Portuguese coach always demanded that his players drop deep to defend but according to Martial, Solskjaer has asked him to attack more and he enjoys it.

"We have a coach with a different approach and we’re trying to do what he’s asking us to do. Perhaps it’s easier for us to play this style of football. Obviously, things are going really well, we are really happy. I hope we can keep him, but it is not down to us. I think when Ole came in he had a lot of confidence and determination. That’s really boosted us and obviously, we are trying to pay it back in kind and hope things work out well.” Martial said.

Things working out

“He’s asked me to attack more. That’s my job, to make the difference and be more decisive. Things are working out well for the other strikers too and I hope we can all continue to be effective and efficient. He has often said that to me, and even previous managers have said that to me. I will score more goals," Martial added.

On whether Man United are the favourites to win the Tuesday's clash, the 23-year old winger admits that the current injury crisis that has hit PSG will not tilt the favour into their way as many good players are also available for their opponents. Neymar, Edinson Cavani and Marco Verratti have been ruled unavailable for the round of 16 match.

"I don't think we're necessarily the favourites. They do have some absentees but they have plenty of very good players to come in. It will be a great game and I hope we win. Paul is Paul. He has a huge amount of quality — he is one of the best midfielders in the world and I think he will get even better." Martial said.

Under Solksjaer Man United are yet to lose in 11 games across all competitions.
