African champions humble Micho’s Pirates in empty stadium

Defending CAF Champions League champions Esperance took charge of group B as they sunk Orlando Pirates at the El Menzah Olympic stadium in Tunis.

The two played inside an empty stadium due to a two-match ban imposed on the Tunisians for crowd trouble during their second leg final against Al Ahly last year.

Tunisian striker Anice Badri broke the deadlock as early as the 16th minute to put the hosts in the lead.

Haythem Jouini sealed the lead with a last minute strike to take the Tunisians to eight points, one and three above AC Horoya and the Pirates respectively.

Horoya registered a similar win over FC Platinum in Conakry Guinea.
