Real set to keep the goals flowing against an off-colour Ajax

Real set to keep the goals flowing against an off-colour Ajax

13 Feb 2019, 17:20

Real Madrid has hit their stride just in time for a trip to Amsterdam to face Ajax in the the Champions League round of 16. We think they will get the job done, but which scorers are we backing?

We've taken bets on betPawa backing a few of them to get on the score sheet tonight!

Preview & team news

Real Madrid arrives off the back of five consecutive league wins in LaLiga, most recently a notable 3-1 triumph away to city rivals Atletico. Ajax has lost their last six matches against Real Madrid, conceding 20 goals and they've only won two of their five domestic games in 2019. The will turn to Barcelona-bound Frenkie De Jong on a big night for the youngster when he'll try to prove himself on the biggest stage against the biggest opponents.

The aforementioned Frenkie De Jong faces a fitness test and Ajax will be desperate for him to be fit enough to make the side. Marcos Llorente and Isco are unlikely to feature for Real, and Gareth Bale might have to settle for a place on the bench so that in-form Vinicius Jr can be accommodated from the start.

Facts

  • Real Madrid has scored seven goals in their last three matches.
  • Ajax has conceded 12 goals in five domestic games this season.
  • Interestingly, Real Madrid's last seven goals have been scored by seven different players.
  • Karim Benzema is Real Madrid's top scorer this season.
