Express captain’s ban reduced after appeal

Michael Birungi’s ban has been reduced from four games to two, Express Football Club has confirmed.

The FUFA Disciplinary committee found the Red Eagles captain guilty of attacking match officials after their 1-0 loss to Tooro last month in fort Portal.

The club appealed the ban immediately and, according to the committee, the ban has been reduced because th aplayer has no track record of indiscipline cases.

“The FUFA Disciplinary Committee has reduced Michael Birungi’s ban from 4 games to 2 games,” Express FC announced.

“This comes after a successful appeal against it by the club and the player not having a known adverse disciplinary record according to the panel.”

Birungi missed their 1-0 loss to BUL on Sunday and will complete his ban on Wednesday as the Red eagles take on Nyamityobora at Wankulukuku.
