Futaa Friday tip of the day: Back high-scoring Bayern
Bayern's persistent pursuit of Bundesliga leaders Borussia Dortmund continues here when they can reduce the deficit to just three points at the top. Can they use an earlier kickoff to their advantage?
What are we expecting from the match and what bets are we placing on betPawa?
Bayern Munich has rallied in recent weeks, and last weekend closed the gap on the top to five points. Here they take on an Augsburg side with very different ambitions, as the visitors sit just three points above the relegation zone. Bayern will be buoyed by Bundesliga leaders Dortmund's recent loss to Tottenham in the Champions League. Be it as it may, they can only do their own job in front of them. Robert Lewandowski has scored 18 goals against Augsburg in 13 meetings across all competitions and is the man to watch. Bayern remains the best away side in the division but they've conceded in all of their matches in 2019. Both sides should score here.
Key centre back Jeffrey Gouweleeuw is injured for the hosts, and their midfield situation looks even worse with Daniel Baier suspended and Jan Morávek and Ja-Cheol Koo unlikely to recover from injuries in time. Bayern holding midfielder Corentin Tolisso is the only long-term absentee for the Bavarians. Star goalkeeper Manuel Neuer is back after a hand injury and is said to be fit and ready to start here and then against Liverpool next week. Niklas Süle, Mats Hummels and Jérôme Boateng compete for two spots at centre-back.
- Bayern has won eight of their last nine Bundesliga games (W8, L1), but continue to struggle defensively, conceding in all five of their competitive matches in 2019.
- Bayern won 3-1 on two of their last three visits to this stadium.
- Three of Bayern's last four Bundesliga matched ended 3-1 either way.
- Robert Lewandowski has 18 goals against Augsburg in his career.
With Bayern's excellent runs of wins, coupled with their tendency to concede goals of late, we are backing over 2.5 goals priced at 1.42.
