Ospina blames Arsenal for not playing for Napoli recently
On-loan Arsenal goalkeeper David Ospina who is currently on the books of Napoli has claimed that a clause put into his loan deal is preventing him from playing for the Serie A club.
Ospina had a strong start to his spell at Napoli making 17 appearances and conceding just 14 goals in all competitions. The Colombian has been on the bench in the last four fixtures for Napoli including most recently against Zurich in the UEFA Europa League Round of 32.
Ospina revealed that a clause inserted in his loan deal is preventing him from playing for Napoli, "My current situation is that I am on loan for this season and there is a clause based on a certain number of games, where if I play, the transfer will become an automatic purchase.
"When the situation does not depend on me, all I can do is wait for the decision to be made, which in this case is from Napoli. The club had just made a great purchase with Meret, who is a young goalkeeper with a great future, so I knew that when he came, this might happen."
