Chelsea coach sends a message to fans ahead of Man United clash
Ahead of their FA Cup fifth-round clash against Manchester United, Chelsea assistant manager Gianfranco Zola has asked fans to be patient with Maurizio Sarri and what he is trying to achieve at the club.
Sarri has been under the microscope for his poor performances that have seen them only pick up one away win this year which came recently in the 1-2 win over Malmo. The Italian has also been criticized for his use of the 4-3-3 formation, with Jorginho playing in the ‘regista’ role, while N’Golo Kante has been forced into a more forward-thinking position on the right of the midfield three.
Zola asked Chelsea fans to throw their support for Sarri and called for patience as they try turning around the fortunes of the club, "How do you know we are not making changes? We are adjusting a few things. Understand that this is the Premier League. But without, you know, changing where we want to go.
"The direction is always the same. Two years ago, you were probably asking the same questions to Pep Guardiola. You were asking if he'd keep playing from the back all the time."
