Wednesday evening has seen the first matchday of the NPFL season unfolding where there was no goalless game.

The day produced an exciting bunch of five 2-0 wins, while three games were decided by odd goals.

MFM extended their top lead with a 2-0 victory over Sunshine Stars in Group A, while El-Kanemi also made sure to keep their summit position after defeating Heartland 2-0.

Lobi Stars' return to league football was 2-1 win over Remo Stars,. The other Nigerian CAF Confedeation Cup campaigners Enugu Rangers did a 2-1 job on Wikki Tourists.
