Kirinya Jinja SSS FC will miss their most-influential striker Joel Madondo today as they face struggling Nyamityobora at the Mighty Arena inside Jinja SSS.
The striker scored one of the two as the Jinja side inflicted a 2-1 revenge on Mbarara City last Tuesday but was unfortunate to receive his third caution of the season.
However, in his absence, coach Abbey Kikomeko, who is looking to impress the decision-makers and cement the permanent job, will look at Fred Amaku, Geoffrey Mubiru, ex-Nyamityobora striker Yusuf Abatoo and Faisal Muwawu who has just returned from Malaysia.
"We shall miss him but there are very able replacements who can fit in and get for us some goals," Kikomeko said.
The youthful coach helped the team achieve topflight status three years ago but was forced aside for Alex Isabirye -now the head at Nyamityobora- because of qualifications. He returned to replace Isabirye at the middle of the 2016-17 as the team struggled in the red zone and ably saved them from the chop.
However, Kikomeko, who is now fully licensed with a CAF B, shows respect to Isabirye in all fronts but the pitch.
"He is a very good coach with a good style of play," he said of both his successor and later predecessor, "but, we want points. So it will be tough but we are ready for anything they throw at us."
