Uganda premier League defending champions Vipers SC edged Express FC 2-0 on Friday at Kitende to go level with KCCA on 45 points.

The Venoms were coming from an uninspiring goalless draw against Onduparaka in Arua but were able to comfortably dispatch the Red Eagles at home.

Dan Sserunkuma scored early in the first and second halves to give the venoms the much-needed three points.

The win moved the team to 45 points, same as KCCA who play SC Villa on Saturday but fall second because of an inferior goal difference.

Express remain ninth with 28 points after 22 outings.
