The Uganda Premier League match day 23 fixture between SC Villa and Kirinya Jinja SSS FC will be played on Wednesday at night.
The League secretariat confirmed the development on Saturday while releasing the fixtures for the day.
"At the beginning of the season, the sponsors and broadcaster StarTimes hinted on returning night games," the league manager Paul Kabaikaramu explained to Futaa, "so," he continued "they have finalised their plans and will be kicking off the plan.
"That will start with the SC Villa-Kirinya game on Wednesday 6th March," Kabaikaramu confirmed.
Hosting a match at night at the Mandela national stadium costs slightly less than nine million shillings extra.
The league manager has confirmed that the sponsors and broadcaster are ready to foot the bill so that the match can take place at the scheduled time.
The move is aimed at promoting the league further by encouraging more fans, who are always at work during daytime, to attend.
Night games in the topflight ended in 2014 when FUFA terminated SuperSport Television's contract to broadcast Uganda Super League games.
