Bernardo Silva set for new bumper Manchester City deal

04 Mar 2019, 11:05

Portuguese playmaker Bernardo Silva is set for a new six-year deal with Manchester City according to the Daily Mail.

Silva has been in fine form for Pep Guardiola’s title-chasing side and is seen as a long term replacement for David Silva.

The 24-year-old who has been a target for Barcelona and Real Madrid currently earns around £100,000 a week but could see his wages double in any new contract negotiations.

Silva, who joined City from Monaco in 2019, has expressed his desire to commit his future with the Premier League champions saying in an earlier interview: “We are stronger. We have kept the same players but added Riyad Mahrez while Phil Foden has improved.

“We have a real taste to win more trophies. It is always good to win something this early in the season.

“You can see the confidence it gives the team and the mood it has created.”
