Five fun facts ahead of the Premier League this weekend

Five fun facts ahead of the Premier League this weekend

09 Mar 2019, 09:50

Matchweek 30 of the Premier League starts with Crystal Palace hosting Brighton, and gets rounded off by the tasty prospect of Arsenal vs Manchester United in the late Sunday kickoff.

We've gathered a few facts and previewed the matches so that you can place some educated bets on betPawa!

Crystal Palace vs Brighton

Crystal Palace’s win at Burnley last time out means that they’re more or less safe from the drop, but the same cannot be said for those opponents or for indeed this week’s opponents, Brighton. The south coast team stopped a wretched run of results with a win against bottom club Huddersfield last weekend, but the threat of relegation persists. They can be overtaken by Southampton if they lose here, even though they’ll still have a game in hand. We think Palace’s attacking threat will earn them a right win here.

FUN FACT: Palace winger Wilf Zaha gas five goals in the last five EPL matches

FUTAA BET: Palace win

Southampton vs Tottenham

Tottenham hasn't won any of their last three games and now Mauricio Pochettino faces a tricky return to his old club, to face a Southampton side not yet safe from the threat of relegation. We can see The Saints snatching something from this game against a side that is out of form on the domestic front.

FUN FACT: Both teams have scored in each of the last six top-flight head to head meetings between the sides

FUTAA BET: Both teams to score

Manchester City vs Watford

Manchester City now leads the Premier League outright after their narrow win at Bournemouth and Liverpool's goalless draw at Everton. At this stage of the season, any win will do and we expect City to grind out another here against a Watford side that, admittedly, is on a good run of form with four wins in five.  With Watford conceding five goals at Anfield, City might sniff an opportunity to get a big win here.

FUN FACT: Three of the last four head to head matches have produced over 3.5 goals.

FUTAA BET: Over 2.5 goals

Chelsea vs Wolves

This looks like a fascinating Premier League clash between the sides currently occupying sixth and seventh on the table respectively. Chelsea must follow up their win against Fulham with three points here, but it won't be easy against a side that won a London derby on the road this season at Tottenham.

Chelsea's upturn in form has seen them win two London derbies in a row in the Premier League, and see off Dynamo Kiev in the first leg of their Europa League round of 16 clash.

FUN FACT: Chelsea is unbeaten at home against Wolves since 1979

FUTAA BET: Under 2.5 goals

Arsenal vs Manchester United

This is a possibly pivotal match in the context of the race for the top four. Chelsea, Manchester United and Arsenal all have a realistic chance of making the grade but head to heads like these might tell us what we need to know about the team's credentials. United came from behind to beat Southampton in the last round, while Arsenal will be ruing Aubameyang's penalty miss in stoppage time which deprived them of a win against Tottenham. Arsenal's record against United in the league is good, but United did win on their last visit here, in the FA Cup.

After Man United's stunning win at PSG, coupled with Arsenal's failure at Rennes, Solskjaer's men will be highly confident of getting a positive result.

FUTAA FACT: Six of the last seven head to heads have seen both teams score

FUTAA BET: Over 2.5 goals
