Nigerian striker Uche Ikpeazu has extended his contract with club Heart of Midlothian as confirmed by the club's official website.

The new agreement between club and player will keep the former Dream Team VI invitee at Tynecastle Park until 2022.

Ikpeazu has been offered a new contract eight months after his arrival from Cambridge United despite spending four months on the sidelines after undergoing surgery on a foot injury.

According to Ikpeazu: ”This club has given me a great platform to improve. I love the club, the fans, the city, and my teammates as well.

"I genuinely think I’m improving and getting back to my best, I feel I’m back playing really good now.

"I feel confident and it’s just the goals to come, really, now is the right time to extend my contract here because I feel the love from the management, the staff, and the fans”.

Ikpeazu has been directly involved in 8 goals (4 goals, 4 assists) in 16 appearances for Heart of Midlothian.

Heart of Midlothian are currently fifth on the Scottish Premiership log.
