Trabzonspor striker Caleb Ekuban has earned a call-up to the Ghana national team for the final 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Kenya.
Ekuban who has been on loan from Leeds United has reportedly been impressive in the Turkish Super Lig hence the call-up by head coach Kwesi Appiah who announced the 24-man squad on Monday, March 11.
The 24-year-old has scored six goals across all competitions and made 14 appearances in the league.
Appiah reportedly wants to give Ekuban an opportunity to showcase his skills and to earn a spot in the team ahead of the AFCON tournament.
Ekuban who was born Italy and eligible to play for the country announced his decision to play for Ghana in the summer of 2017 after completing his move from Chievo Verona to Leeds United.
The Ghanaian initially met Appiah in April 2018 were talks were held in London about his international future.
