Aston Villa duo Axel Tuanzebe and Henri Lansbury returned to training on Monday, March 11 after lengthy injury woes.
The Villa Park side played to a 1-0 victory over Birmingham City on Sunday, March 10 courtesy of Jack Grealish and will look to take on Nottingham Forest on Wednesday, March 13.
Neither Tuanzebe or ex-Forest captain Lansbury are not set to feature at the City Ground, but they are likely to be back in contention after the international break.
Speaking after the victory over Blues on Sunday, Smith said: “Henri Lansbury and Axel Tuanzebe will return to the grass tomorrow.
“They won’t be ready for Wednesday or Saturday but I expect them to be available for the Blackburn (March 30) game.”
Tuanzebe hasn’t played for Villa since the 2-2 draw with Stoke City on December 15 due to a foot injury.
The 21-year-old centre-back, who has started 21 games this season, has returned to Bodymoor Heath to complete his recovery after working under the guidance of parent club Manchester United’s doctors.
Lansbury, meanwhile, has only played three games this term due to persistent hamstring problems. The midfielder’s only league appearance came in the 4-2 victory over Birmingham at Villa Park in November - but he only lasted eight minutes after coming on as a substitute.
