Zidane marks Real Madrid return with a win
Karim Benzema and Gareth Bale each grabbed a goal as the Spanish giants down Celta at their own home soil. The win to Madrid to nine points, behind leaders Barcelona, who head to Real Betis on Sunday.
This was Zinedine Zidane's competitive match since his return to Real Madrid and the Frenchman made a number of changes to his squad. Thibaut Courtois was dropped for Keylor Navas while Isco and Marcelo started together.
Madrid's penalty claim
Kevin appeared to clip Asensio as Bale's cross came in, but intriguingly it looked as though it was just outside the area, which meant the referee could not bring it back for a free-kick. The referee pointed towards his earpiece as he explained the situation.
Asensio made it, carrying and carrying the ball before playing it over for Benzema, who then picked out Isco in the middle to turn it home.
First, it was Isco, then Marcelo who picked out Bale, and the Welshman took a touch before slotting an effort past Ruben, with the ball hitting the inside of the post and nestling into the net.
