Sundowns welcome back Keletso Makgalwa from Maritzburg loan

Sundowns welcome back Keletso Makgalwa from Maritzburg loan

17 Mar 2019, 20:20

Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Pitso Mosimane has shared his shock at the reason for Maritzburg United's decision to release Keletso Makgalwa.

Makgalwa initially joined the Team of Choice at the start of the 2018/19 season from the Absa Premiership defending champions but was reportedly sent back to Chloorkop halfway through the loan deal.

KickOff reported last week that the U23 player returned to Gauteng after being released by Maritzburg while Farook Kadodia went to further explain the abrupt decision.

“He's a very good player, but unfortunately he was no longer part of our plans anymore,” Kadioda said.

After the game against Maritzburg on Tuesday night, Mosimane was asked about the player but did not want to go too deep into the matter.

"He's still our player. On why he was released I think Maritzburg United can explain to you guys. They have more information on this but as his club we happy to keep him."

Makgalwa made a name for himself in the Multichoice Diski Challenge for Mamelodi Sundowns before heading to Pietermaritzburg where he made approximately 19 appearances for the side.

The youngster was allegedly out of favour when Muhsin Ertugral took over from Fadlu Davids late in December 2018.
