Tottenham Hotspur defender Ben Davies has admitted that he would like to see Gareth Bale back at the club.

Bale has been criticised by Real Madrid fans and some players alike and that has led to many pundits to suggest that the Wales star might exit the Santiago Bernabeu and return to the Premier League. Bale and Davies are out with Wales for the international duty and will play against Slovakia in their opening Euro 2020 qualifier today.

“He’s come under a bit of flak at Madrid recently but for Wales he’s always been brilliant. I’m always going to say it’s unfair, he is one of the best players in the world, we see it every day in training. I’d definitely have him at Tottenham. I don’t know how likely that is - there’s no talking to that man. He’s always the player that wants to be there and put his heart on the line for the team and I’m sure he’ll do it again. We’ll see how he does on Sunday but I’m sure he’ll put a top performance in.” Davies told The Daily Star.

Bale joined the Spanish giants and has won the Champions League four times since leaving Tottenham in 2013 in an £85million deal.
