Alonso played the full 90 minutes in the 2-1 win over Cardiff on Sunday, but Sarri confirmed he has a hamstring strain that has left him sidelined. The Spaniard has had an inconsistent season that has seen him criticized and at one point many called for him to be dropped for Emerson Palmieri. The former Sunderland defender has however ridden the storm and seems to be getting back to the form he displayed earlier on in the season.

Speaking in a press conference ahead of the Brighton clash, Sarri ruled out Alonso out of the game, "We have a little problem with Alonso. Last night, he had a little problem with his hamstring. So I think that he has to rest for three or four days." Chelsea will face Brighton on Wednesday 3rd April at the Stamford Bridge in a 9:45 PM kick off.
