Leonardo Bonucci issues a statement after his claims about Moise Kean's racist chants

Kean scored late on in the game to assure all three points for Juventus and celebrated as stood still and held out his arms in front of the home fans. More abuse was heard and Kean’s teammate Blaise Matuidi allegedly asked the referee for the game to be stopped. Bonucci made shocking comments after the game noting that, "should be split 50-50" between Kean and the Cagliari fans, suggesting the teenager had provoked the abusers.

In an Instagram post 24 hours later, Bonucci cleared the air about his comments made after the game, "After 24 hours I want to clarify my feelings. Yesterday I was interviewed right at the end of the game, and my words have been clearly misunderstood, probably because I was too hasty in the way I expressed my thoughts.

“Hours and years wouldn’t be enough to talk about this topic. I firmly condemn all forms of racism and discrimination. The abuses are not acceptable at all and this must not be misunderstood."
