William Troost-Ekong was omitted from the Udinese matchday squad that held AC Milan to a 1-1 draw on Tuesday, April 2.
The latest omission increases speculation on his injury woes due to the fact that Troost-Ekong is always in the starting XI and this could bring a worry to not only his manager but also to Super Eagles' head coach Gernot Rohr.
Prior to Tuesday's game, Troost-Ekong has started each of his team's top-flight games this season, going the distance in all but one of them.
Udinese director of the technical area, Daniele Pradé had earlier informed that the Nigerian cropped an injury in their penultimate game last weekend, and was understandably not deemed fit for this one.
It is unknown the extent of the injury as club manager Igor Tudor has yet to comment on his current health status.
Meanwhile, his compatriot, Stefano Okaka has earned impressive plaudits from the manager for his defensive input after coming on in the draw with Milan.
