Zambia's envoys in the CAF Confederation Cup, Nkana continued their good run at home beating CS Sfaxien 2-1 on Sunday afternoon.
Nkana came into the match on the back of nine straight wins in CAF Competitions at home while their opponents, CS Sfaxien came into the quarter finals as the only team that had not lost a game in the group stage.
Nkana started as the strong side with Ramadhan Kessy making a few good crosses. Both teams could not however create clear cut chances .
Nkana however took the lead in the 36th minute after Kelvin Mubanga Kampamba came got on the end of a Duncan Otieno deflected shot to put Nkana in the lead. The match went to the break with Nkana leading by a lone goal.
The hosts doubled the lead after seven games with Fred Tshimenga heading home from close range after a beautiful ball from midfield. Nkana were forced to make two substitutions due to injuties. Walter Bwalya and Shadreck Malambo were withdrawn with injuries and coach Beston Chambeshi brought in Festus Mbewe and Jacob Ngulube .
Nkana looked to be heading to a two nil victory but Habib Oueslati slotted home in the 84th minute after Firas Chawat did a lot of work on the wing beating Ben Adama Bahn to set him up.
2-1 the match finished, Nkana will now have to travel to Sfax to play the return leg.
