Shame as Gor Mahia players spend night on airport floors

Gor Mahia will need miracles or maybe even Jesus himself to get a win in the return leg of their CAF Confederations Cup quarter-final against Moroccan side RS Berkane tonight.

With less than 22 hours before kick-off, Mahia players were forced to use airport waiting lounges at the Doha International Aiport in Qatar as sleeping areas en route to Morocco.

Photos making serious rounds online show some of the players including Francis Kahata and Philemon Otieno catching some sleep on the floor with others seeking comfort under airport lounge seats. Terrible.

Before their departure in batches, Gor were forced to return to training on Thursday after Qatar Airlines denied they had travel bookings already reserved for them as had been communicated to the team by the government.

The debacle doesn't end there just yet, with reports saying striker Dennis Oliech missed the trip after losing his passport in confusing circumstances.

The Kenyan champions lost the first leg 2-0 at Kasarani last week and will be hoping for a miraculous comeback at the 15,000 seater Stade Municipal de Berkane starting 10 pm tonight.
